Complementary Therapies

We have been fortunate in securing funding from Social Care & Health to provide complementary therapies to Carers at a reduced rate.  We are currently providing six sessions of a therapy of the carers choice at a cost of £6 per session to the carer.  This can be provided either by a therapist based at the Pioneering Care Centre or in Spennymoor, or in special circumstances, we can arrange for a therapist to visit you in your home. 

Aromatherapy Massage:

Aromatherapy treatment on the neck, shoulders and upper body encourages natural healing and helps:-

• Promote relaxation

• Relieve Stress

• Reduce Pain

Reiki:

Healing by concentration of touch around the body without the need to undress.  Reiki promotes both physical and emotional well being.

Reflexology:

Imbalance in the system can be diagnosed by tender areas found in the feet, the treatment works to correct the imbalance.  Reflexology can revitalise energy and reduce tensions and the  symptoms of stress.

A refreshing and reviving massage.  Indian Head massage is accessible, convenient and helps to stimulate your senses to leave you feeling rejuvenated. By massaging the head, shoulders and neck, Indian Head Massage alleviates the tensions in the upper body.

Body Massage:

A traditional form of massage used either to stimulate or relax. It is used to reduce stress and muscular tension, improve circulation and help mobility.
