Who are we?
The Princess Royal Trust, Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre is part of a national network of 122 Carers Centres called ‘The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.’ Each individual Carers Centre in the network is a charity in its own right, Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre is also a Company Limited by Guarantee.
A carer is someone who provides unpaid care for another person, who through age, disability or illness is unable to manage alone. Due to caring responsibilities, the carers own quality of life can suffer by affecting social lives, finances, employment and their own health.
Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre opened its doors in October 1996 and now supports over 1000 Carers who are living in the Borough of Sedgefield. We are a membership organisation and currently have over 80 members.
